I am Thankful

These last few months I have been thankfully busy photographing high school seniors and families trying to get some last minute outdoor shots before the weather turns. We have been blessed with mild temperatures here in Central New York this Fall. I've been so worried about booking outdoor sessions so late in the season but have been pleasantly surprised almost every shoot with warm and sometimes even sunny weather!

It's that time of year again. The weather is getting colder, the leaves are turning brilliant colors and I'm letting the prices fall! Frame prices are once again 15% off the regular price. Order yours before November 30th to guarantee shipping by December 24.

Stacy & Christopher

I was lucky enough to tag along with Phil as a second shooter for Stacy and Christopher's wedding. We started in Auburn at St. Alphonsus Church, then traveled to The Renaissance Hotel in Syracuse for the reception. Despite the threats of rain by weather forecasters, it turned out to be a brilliant day. The clear skies made for a beautiful panoramic view of the city from the ballroom at the top of The Renaissance.

Ella on the way!

I got a phone call a couple of weeks ago from Monika. She wanted some maternity shots of herself with her husband, Jeff, but was a bit concerned about the timing. "I'm nine months pregnant!" she said. She was worried baby Ella would arrive before we had a chance to get some photos of the belly. A few days later (and still pregnant), she, Jeff and I were at Hoopes Park snapping photos. After the park, we went to the house to get some more intimate shots with the backdrop. I think I might hire Monika as an image consultant. She had some great ideas for poses including the one below of her and Jeff at the park. Best wishes for the safe and speedy delivery of baby Ella!

Sara & Hugh at The Center

I have never met a more laid back bride than Sara. Her decision to have The Center, a holistic wellness spa in Auburn, host her wedding may have been the reason she and her bridesmaids were so relaxed when I arrived to shoot her prep. Beautiful, smiling Sara and her ladies got off to a happy start, which led to a great day (The rain stopped!) I think that shot of Sara, Hugh and the whole crew highlights the vibe. These guys and gals were lots of fun!

Senior Banners

More new stuff! My lab now offers these fun 7"x24" banners. They're printed on a lightweight vinyl, and the quality is excellent! They're pretty enough to put in a frame, but durable enough to just stick to the wall like a poster and/or fit inside a school locker.

Folios

I recently ordered a folio and am really loving its simplicity and elegance! Folios are individually handbound with Japanese bookbinding fabrics and Swiss ribbons that come in 18 different colors. Each folio is designed to fold into a small book with a ribbon closure or be displayed open like a frame. They make for sophisticated showpieces and/or gifts.

Ryan & Amanda

Phil and I were in Clyde last weekend for a wedding at one of the prettiest churches in Central New York - Christ Community Church. It was sunny and hot all day, and I might have melted into my shoes. Ryan and Amanda were so having so much fun even though the mercury hovered somewhere around the 90 degree mark. We headed to Geneva for pics at the lake. Then it was time to party on the sunken dance floor at Geneva's nostalgic Club 86. Check out that funky ceiling!

Katie & Ladybug

We had a beautiful afternoon for Katie's senior photo shoot today at Affinity Farm in Skaneateles. Katie is a pro in front of the camera. Same goes for her beautiful horse, Miss Ladybug. She was so quiet and "lady"like!

Jeremy & Marissa

Every bride dreads the thought of rain on her wedding day. It's no secret we've had more than our fair share of downpours in CNY this summer. Even though the sky was falling all around, Marissa kept smiling. With the help of her wedding party and over a dozen umbrellas, miraculously not a drop of rain fell on her gorgeous head. The day started out pretty soggy, but when Jeremy and Marissa arrived at the end of the aisle as Mr. and Mrs., the sun was shining. By the time we headed to the lake for portraits, you would never have guessed it had rained buckets all morning.

The Divine is in the Details

It's the little things that make weddings unique and beautiful to photograph. Adam & Christina's big day was no exception. Although their wedding was no small affair (20+ in the wedding party and over 300 guests!), there were a few little details that were almost as adorable as the couple themselves.

New blog!

I'm so excited to have finally created a blog for my new site! I will occasionally post new photos, news and updates here, so check back.

This week I had the pleasure to work with my uncle Phil Dello Stritto, a 40 year veteran of the photography business. Phil owns and operates Studio D in Auburn, NY. I will be assisting Phil here and there throughout the summer. Our subjects this week were the students of Absolute Dance Studio here in Auburn. Lots and lots of pretty tappers and ballerinas, and what a sweet space to shoot in with lots of big windows for those great available light photos.

I also had a blast shooting some Daddy's Day photos of my son Alex to give as gifts to my husband. Alex had so much fun tossing his Dad's big shoes and colorful ties around the room. I almost didn't get any photos I was laughing so much!
